Third album from Brazil's Grey Wolf in a three-year period, and it is another pummeling chunk of primitive metal goodness. This band drinks deep from the well of bands like Omen, Hyborian Steel, and Ironsword with pugilistic riffs and semi-rough vocals that remain tuneful. The guitar sound is good, the bass is mixed up where you can hear it, and the riffs are class. Vocalist Fabio Paulinelli takes a bit of getting used to, as his voice is a bit more gargly than I might like, but he remains energetic and understandable. No gimmicks here, just iron-age riffs and classic metal lyrical themes like barbarians, Conan, axes, and more barbarians. This does not break any molds, and it is a bit short at just 35 minutes, but it applies plenty of foot to ass.
