Detached From Life

Mr Death is a new band apparently put together by two guys who used to be in Tiamat back before Tiamat totally sucked. I like this album pretty well, but it is so freaking derivative that it's hard to take it that seriously. I mean, this is Swedish Death Metal so generic it ought to come in a white box: "Best Choice Swedish Style Death Metal in Sunlight Sauce, now with Entombed Crunch!" This is the kind of album you won't turn off, because it is visceral and entertaining, but you are never going to get an urge to listen to it again because there are so many bands that have already done this, and many of them do it better. Detached from Life is a perfectly decent Death Metal album, but not anything more than that.
