No surprises here from Canada's Satanic as they once again offer a nice slab of brutal thrash/death metal that's very much in the vein of what they did on Architecture of Chaos and on ...from Hell. This is raw to the core, with a very rough sound and a somewhat muddy production that fits the band's style, but can require some effort on the listener's part. The vocals are demonic screams sound as raw as the music, a very harsh shouted style that's front and centre and as abrasive to the ears as the razor-sharp, buzzing guitars. Some catchy riffs are bound to get stuck in your head after just one listens, while the pounding drums might require you to do some plaster work on your walls if you crank this sucker up too much. Other than an acoustic part at the end ("hidden" in a Marvel movie credits kind of way), Taste of Vengeance is filled with speedy, dirty, filthy and rocking thrashing death that'll make even Satan run for cover.
