Wow. This album fucking slays from beginning to end. This is almost perfect, to the point where I can't really find something wrong actually worth pointing out. This is death/thrash with the balance tipping a bit more into death metal territory with some insanely fast and heavy, pounding passages that will stop you dead in your tracks. I've had to pick myself off the floor more than a few times when listening to this little gem. The thrashiest parts are nothing to sneeze at either, with some razor-sharp riffage that calls for the air guitar. They occasionally throw in some more... hmmm... "artsy" weird bits that come unexpected amidst this insane speed fest, and that just makes things more interesting.
I'm rarely genuinely impressed these days, if only because of the sheer number of albums that play through my speakers. Here's the bad news for Satanic: You've set the bar pretty fucking high from the get go, and you have one hell of a tall order for the next album.
