Saying this is 80s metal would be redundant since "Danger Zone" is a 1984 release. :) Ever since I found this little gem it has been playing over and over at home and at work, stealing a lot of playtime from my other albums. This third full-length from Germany's Sinner is about as straight in-your-face 80s heavy metal as you can get. Listening to this, one is reminded of such bands as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, early Mötley Crüe (say Shout of the Devil era) - in fact the vocals sound slightly like the bastard child of Rob Halford and Vince Neil (OK OK... It would be easy to make a tasteless joke out of that one...) Mix a bit of all these bands (and probably a few more) and you get "Danger Zone".
No ballads here, just a set of catchy rockers that ought to please just about every metalheads (OK, maybe not the N*Flamez kids) - catchy riffs, great melodies, not heavy enough to turn off hard rockers yet heavy enough to please metalheads. No over-the-top political lyrics, just what I like to call "party metal" - feel good music that gets you headbanging and air guitaring from beginning to end. Need I say more? Essential for 80s metal fans - or fans of good metal, period.
