Based on this 2-song single, Heavy Cross is looking to join bands like ZUUL, Enforcer, RAM, and others in the NWOBHM revival that has been underway the last couple of years. Simple, straightforward songwriting, clear, unremarkable vocals and a no-frills production give both songs on Street Wolf that early 80s sound. The title track is heavier while "Red Light Woman" owes more to the 70's Hard Rock sound that was the basis for the NWOBHM. The guitars are nice and crunchy but they can't save Heavy Cross from being generic. They sound as authentic as any of the bands I mentioned earlier, but they lack any real hook that would set them apart. Hopefully, a full-length is in the works with something for us to sink our teeth into.
