Pertness have a silly name, but their sound is entirely typical of Scandinavian Power Metal – heavy, clean, and melodic. There is some real crunch going on here, and some nice riffage, but the songwriting is beyond derivative, so while this is engaging while it's on, it is not going to really wow you. If you miss the old days of Cryonic Temple and Nocturnal Rites then this is okay, but you'd probably be better off with Iron Fire.
