The debut demo from Swedish death metallers Deathchamber is a fiery affair and surprisingly doesn't sound that homegrown. Having more in common with the US death metal scene, you can tell these guys have a lot of Morbid Angel influence, as they proudly wear it on their sleeve. I mean come on, with a track like "Fallen From the Grace of God" it's blatantly obvious, not to mention the slow riff over double kicking a la "Where the Slime Live" they utilize. Fortunately this isn't bland plagiarism, with some nice symphonic touches here and there and a real go for the throat attitude in their general delivery. Overall a pretty cool demo, with excellent production values and good songs – be prepared for blasting and articulate riff work. Certainly a band to keep an eye on, there's definitely potential here.
