Sometimes, good things come in small doses.  Albeit short, this split CD (also released as a split 7", without "Insulter of Jesus Christ") packs plenty of vicious, raw blackened Thrash that destroys everything in its path. I'm a big Nifelheim fan, but this was my first exposure to Brazilians Vulcano, and I definitely like what I heard here, a style quite similar to Nifelheim's, with even sicker, "from the depths of hell" type of vocals - well, maybe not sicker, but quite sick anyway. ;)  Their material here sounds more raw, heavy and lo-fi than Nifelheim's, but not by much - that's the beauty of this split CD - the material from both bands flows together very nicely, different but with a similar enough style.  Speed and rawness are at the rendez-vous, for a short but enjoyable slab of dirty poser-crushing old school Thrash that would send the more commercial Thrash bands running to their mommies.  Nifelheim is on this, what else do you expect?  Pretty much mandatory for Black/Thrash fans.  As a side note, all tracks by both bands were never released before, and the CD bonus track "Insulter of Jesus Christ" features guest guitarist Jon Nodtveidt (Dissection).
