Masterplan are quite popular in the metal world for God knows what reason. This kind of stuff is barely even metal, and certainly nothing of good quality. I am glad I had never heard a Masterplan album before this one, and it is quite likely that I never will again.
We have the keyboardy and flowery kind of power metal here; and of course the melodic vocals. The guy has a voice and can really sing… no doubt. But "Aeronautics" is not the kind of album I would recommend to anybody. I'll keep this very short – this is a band with hopes and dreams of achieving worldwide rock star fame and status. At least that is what it appears to be from the music I hear on this record. Very simple, basic, commercially oriented and quite catchy tracks are on the menu here. Nothing overwhelming or "heavy" or involving at all. Just light ear candy that does not taste good to begin with.
That is all I have to say about this waste-of-time album.
