This has somehow become one of the longest-running Death Metal bands in the US, with a history stretching back to their demo days in the early '90s. I would not have picked this to be a band with that kind of staying power, but here we are. It has also taken this band a really long time to evolve from an unlistenable goregrind act to a decent Death Metal band who play actual music. This is still high-speed, chaotic flailing, and the fingerprints of Cannibal Corpse are still all over everything here, but the riffs are actually good, and there is some genuinely good lead work buried in this if you listen for it. It's a shame the drums are so dull, but you can't have everything. The lyrics are still brain-dead drivel about blood and bodies suitable for third graders, but you can't understand them anyway, which is a plus. I guess what I am saying is this is the first Exhumed album I actually enjoyed, and it is a pleasure to see a band like this produce music that is genuinely pretty good.
