Simulacre

Finally a first full-length for Décryptal. I've seen the band unleash their crushing death metal live a couple of times, and Simulacre delivers the goods, as expected. This is heavy, crushing, dark death metal done right. The lyrics are in French and sometimes decipherable, but barely, the deep growls just droning above the musical onslaught on offer. There's a surprising amount of melody for this type of death metal, and it helps make the songs more memorable and contributes to the dark and sometimes gloomy atmosphere throughout. It's not the most original stuff out there, but it's well executed.
