Simulacre

Proper debut for this Quebecois band from Michel's neck of the woods. This is Death Metal with no surprises at all, sounding very old-school Swedish and not very intense. The production doesn't really do much to punch this up, and so it kind of rumbles along, sounding pretty good but never having anything that really stands out about it. There are some nicely atonal riffs buried in here, and it has a cool sepulchral sound with hollow bellowing vocals, but there's just nothing here to really latch onto.
