I remember I really liked this band's Kitab Al Awthan album back in 2012, finding it a breath of fresh air with the dense, Middle Eastern rhythms and melodies combined with the extreme songwriting. Their subsequent works went much more in an industrial direction and sounded awful, and while this one gets back to a more organic sound, it still sucks.
I mean, the music here, by itself, would be fine, if rather uninspired – it pretty much just sounds like a bad Melechesh impression at this point – but the vocals are detestably awful. I suppose I should not be surprised that current vocalist Humbaba joined the band right about the time they started to reek, and this one he manages to completely ruin. He does not do harsh vocals on this thing, and I am not quite sure what kind of style you would call this, besides "fucking annoying". He natters, he moans, he babbles, he warbles, he makes noises like a 12-year-old making a Scary Voice – he sounds completely ridiculous, in other words, and what would be passable music is rendered all but unlistenable.
