It had been awhile since I had last listened to Portrait's stuff, but they seem to be keeping to roughly the same formula as that of the album I reviewed many years ago. Old-school meets modern heavy metal once again, which is bound to please some people in both "camps". You get a bit of the old-school spirit mixed with a cleaner, more precise and fast approach of newer bands. Portrait manage to do this relatively well here, though I can't say I ever felt the urge to play the album over and over. It's catchy enough, mostly because of the vocal melodies (I think I've had "Flaming Blood" stuck in my head for a while), but overall it's mostly average to slightly above average. It's good while it's on and has some replay value and sometimes that's good enough, as is the case for Burn the World.
