Old-school Swedish Death Metal. I could stop my review right here because that's all there is in a nutshell to say about this one-man project from Finland.

A guy named Markus Makkonen (Sadistik Forest, ex-Hooded Menace) is behind this Death Metal project, doing all the instruments and vocals on this four-track effort, titled Call of the Casket. He has taken the best sides of old-school Swedish Death Metal and Bolt Thrower's all-mangling heaviness and just incorporated them straight into Nerve Saw. The music is as crushingly heavy and brutal as it gets, although perhaps at times a bit too one-dimensional.

Markus performs nothing very original on Call of the Casket, but then again, I didn't expect him to do that either. If you have any love for the classic triple-S (i.e. "Stockholm-Sunlight-Skogsberg") buzzsaw sound mixed with some bits and pieces from the legacy that Bolt Thrower left behind, there's definitely something here to pick your curiosity.
