This is a cool slab of old school, 80s-style metal served with a modern production. The album has this positive, "good time" vibe that keeps the foot tapping and makes you break into air guitaring and headbanging here and there. This is very much in the vein of those heavy metal bands that weren't into very serious lyrical content but without falling into the silly either. Nothing original here, mind you, but it's well played with some cool, speedy and sharp riffs and the occasional nice solo. The singer has a bit of a gruffy voice that fits the music like a glove. Guilty as Charged is the kind of album you put on when you need something to lift your spirits. Grab a beer and enjoy a little trek back to simpler times...
