Denouncing the Holy Throne

Czech Death Metallers Heaving Earth have been around since 2008 and have recorded two full-length albums so far. The band's second album, Denouncing the Holy Throne, was released in the spring of 2015 by Lavadome Productions.

Musically Heaving Earth has found a home with a US-styled Death Metal that is progressive, blast beats-ridden, brutal and heavy as hell. To me they sound like a bastard child of Immolation and Hate Eternal, taking full advantage of the technical, progressive and complex side of Death Metal. Heaving Earth uses all-crushing blast beat attacks in their songs that seem to squeeze all the air out of your lungs but when they slow down a bit (like on "Worms of Rusted Congregation") they crack bones. It should be mentioned that out of twelve songs recorded for this second full-length opus, four are short instrumentals. Death throat Michal Štĕpánek is like the long-lost brother of Immolation's Ross Dolan with very throaty and deep grunts.

Expect nothing but a brutal, shredding feast for the ears on Denouncing the Holy Throne especially for those who adore and love the tricky and semi-progressive sound of Immolation.
