Disarm Goliath play a U.S.-flavored brand of Traditional Metal on their second full-length, Born to Rule. The music is on the thrashy side with early Metal Church and Alice In Hell-era Annihilator giving a fair jumping off point. The vocals are clear with plenty of high-pitched screams punctuating the choruses. I was reminded of Ron Keel or a very young Paul Stanley. Overall, Born to Rule is decent but rather generic and lacks any real standout tracks. There are lots of chugging riffs and some exciting lead guitar work, but Disarm Goliath never put it all together in to one killer song. Fans of bands like Elm Street or Iron Cross will find some value here as long as they remember Born to Rule a step or two behind those bands in songwriting.
