Nominon have been rather quietly going about the business of becoming one of the most reliable bands in the new Swedish scene. This is their fifth album in an under-the-radar career that goes back well over a decade, and while it is solid, I think it does not quite measure up to their last one. On this album, Nominon sound a good bit more like The Crown than they used to, and while The Crown are awesome, I just find this disc lacks the snarling, spitting edge of Monumentomb. This is a stalwart disc of Swedish thrashy Death Metal, with the expected fingerprints of Dismember, Carnage, and Deathrace King all over it, but the guitar sound is a bit too restrained, and the songs all sound a bit too much like each other. Solid but uninspired.
