This album comes shorthly after Litany but is pretty much an interlude while awaiting the next studio album. Reign Forever World contains 5 new songs (including one instrumental), 2 lives songs (Creatures of Light and Darkness, and Carnal) as well as 3 covers: Total Desaster (Destruction), Rapid Fire (Judas Priest) and Freezing Moon (Mayhem). This last one is remarkable by the use of clean vocals, something very uncommon coming from a Death Metal band such as Vader. Unsurprisingly the Rapid Fire cover is, well, more rapid than the original version. It's actually interesting to listen to the Vader and JP versions one after the other. The Total Desaster cover is... destructive.. hehehe. They did a good job of interpreting their own versions of the songs while still keeping them recognizable.
The live songs come out pretty good, the sound is surprisingly clear. As for the new songs, well, it's Vader so they're pretty much in-your-face brutal Death Metal played with expertise. The instrumental "Red Dunes" is actually very short and could probably have been dropped as it's quite ordinary, I guess it's just an (unnecessary) intro to the last song "Lord of Desert".
The booklet is extremely well done and includes all lyrics, even for the covers which is a bit unusual. Not much negative I can say about this album, it pretty much kicks ass from beginning to end. Of course I wouldn't mind if it were a bit longer. Vader fans should get this, and the others should become Vader fans. ;)
