Gorgoroth has to be one of the most significant name that have paved the path of what Nordic Black Metal is truly all about.

Gorgoroth, the mighty and controversial Norwegian Black Metal act! No presentation required so let's get right to the subject! Regain Records are continuing on their re-issue crusade. After classic work from Naglfar and Marduk, they took the great initiative of giving a new life to Gorgoroth's first releases. I was looking forward to this since I never heard them and was only familiar with their last album and Trelldom. Antichrist is not only a re-issue but was also re-mastered. Even if this is a short 25 minutes piece of music, it is not short of a good listening experience. We are greeted by bestial sounds and samplings on "En Stram Lukt Av Kristen Blod". Then the Black Metal spews its venom up until track three, simply called "Gorgoroth", which breaks in with some crunchy guitar riffs, distorted arpeggios, clean, yes clean vocals and a bit of a folksy edge. After a fast and kicking instrumental comes my favorite composition, "Sorg". Introduced by thunder, rain and church bells, the great doom crushing guitar work begins the satanically delicious anthem; sick rasps, more clean vocals, and then the storm ends it all in black. The best I've heard so far from Gorgoroth.

Antichrist is not only a super title but a great album to discover.
