Second classic reissue for Hexenhaus, and now we're really entering technical thrash territory, and the band makes no apologies for it. Technical thrash is a weird beast and also kind of an acquired taste. On The Edge of Eternity, Hexenhaus still have a bit of that in-your-face attitude found in A Tribute to Insanity, but it's kind of diluted. You still get some cool riffage and drums that just won't quit, but also more of a show-off kind of playing that I'm not too fond of, though I don't hate it. I find the songs less engaging and less memorable, the new singer's vocals are not quite as infectious, but he does showcase more range, to good effect, if less thrashy overall. The sound is sometimes kind of tincan-like, though it's tolerable; just not all that meaty. The Edge of Eternity is not as replay-worthy as its predecessor, but it has its moments and, if you're more into technical thrash, you may actually like this one here more than the debut.
