Luftuz

This is almost as raw and lo-fi as the band's self-titled album I reviewed recently, but Luftuz is more varied, with some dark/creepy/gloomy (your pick) sound effects popping up here and there, sometimes surprisingly in the middle of an otherwise straightforward, bare metal song. The subtle use of keyboards provides an eerie atmosphere in the best tradition of the second wave. The metal here is fast and brutal in an early Darkthrone way, just raw, pure fucking hate and then some. The croaky vocals are tortured and hellish, a perfect match for the music on offer. Wulkanaz isn't a band I've seen mentioned much, but it's definitely worth checking out for your dose of raw, lo-fi black metal.
