Maze Controller

From the name, I was expecting some dungeon synth or something similarly borderline, but no, this is definitely Thrash like it says on the tin, it just has a lot of keys layered into it so it has a kind of symphonic sound, which is not something I have heard before. This has a very Symphonic Power Metal sensibility and melodic style, while the riffs and vocals are 100% Thrash all the way. It makes for a really distinct sound, and it took me a bit to get used to it. The songwriting is pretty solid, even if it tends to get unfocused sometimes, and on the track "Lost in the Shifting Labyrinth" the band indulges in like 4 minutes of synth plinking and voiceover, which I could have done without. However, when this thrashes, it thrashes pretty hard, keys or no keys, and I give this band props for doing something new.
