Death Is Absent

I have been following this band for a while, charting their improvement over time into a really strong Black Metal band, but I find this album a bit of a step back. The production is weaker, with a smoothed-out guitar sound and an emphasis on keys. The songwriting is still solid, but the elements being given focus are not the best ones. The vocals are worse this time out, with a more gargly, tired-sounding tone that lacks intensity. Overall this is slower, more melodic, and with a lacking recording job, so not Aethyrick's best work.
