I like it when bands sound this good on their debut, though that does make it harder for them to top it. Graven Sin play dark, epic heavy metal with the occasional doomy vibe, though I found it's kind of upbeat in its darkness, with vocals that just call for singing along and crunchy guitars delivering catchy, heavy riffs. This is a band in the same league as modern epic heavy metal bands that have been popping up in the past 15-20 years, with a clean, polished production that makes the songs sound majestic all while not getting in the way of the aggressiveness that you expect from heavy metal. The sound here can practically put symphonic power metal albums to shame, that's just how powerful and sometimes borderline bombastic this all sounds. A great debut, and a high bar set for the next album.
