Gotta love the name and the artwork. One Day in Pain is one of those bands playing dirty, no-frills old-school death metal, and doing it well. Raucous growls, mid to fast-paced heavy and crushing death metal with buzzsaw guitars. For once it's a Swedish band that's playing old-school Swedish death metal. ;) The vocals are relatively decipherable and kind of catchy enough that I sometimes felt like singing along, but it's the guitars that got my attention, sometimes kind of just buzzing along, sometimes going into machine-gun mode, and catching you off guard with some squealing solos. The drums are sometimes forward, sometimes almost lost in the mix, which comes off sounding a little weird, but in a good way. Lots of material here to get the head banging and the air guitar busy.
