Aeolian are pretty underground, and this is their third album of Death Metal avowedly influenced by the late-90s boom in the sound, drawing in a lot of Dissection as well as the expected In Flames/Dark Tranquility vibes. The riffing is good, the production is solid, the vocals are kind of crap, seesawing between a decent grunt and a terrible screeching that almost ruins things for me. The songwriting is decent but doesn't rise above that much. There's just nothing here I have not heard before, and heard done better. Don't expect it to blow your doors off.
