Mass Grave Horizon

Debut for this band who are working Death Metal with a doomy vibe, if not straying into full-on Doom/Death. They play slower, and they have a more melodic sense of composition than you would expect for a band with a name like this one. That said, this is pretty standard songwriting, with bludgeoning riffs that just change from fast riffs to slow riffs. The slow parts are where this band sounds more individual, as they add in a lot of melodic leads that are more interesting than the rather faceless hammering of the faster passages. This band has the right idea, but they don’t really do anything essential here.
