Second Blodulv album reissued by Ophidian Sun, II is not as raw and distorted as the self-titled debut, but it's largely cut from the same cloth. '90s-style raw black metal with all the expected ingredients, there are no surprises here. Compared to the debut, I find II is more melodic—and I don't mean pretty little melodies, of course—and also more repetitive, with a few songs just chugging away with the same beat and/or riff the whole time. That's not really bad, but I found it tends to get old quick and after a couple of listens you want to take a break and put something else on. Despite this, it's solid raw black metal through and through.
