This is one of those albums that has been popping up regularly on my playlist for a while now. Fracmont is Messiah's first album in some 25 years and the guys sure haven't pussied out. This is dark, sometimes disturbing death metal with a strong thrash vibe that is as much about the music as it is about the atmosphere. It reeks evil while being curiously catchy with that infectious raw guitar sound that will clean the wax out of your ears and that drumming just gets the head banging or at least bobbing almost constantly. The vocals are very distinctive, a harsh, raspy style that's decipherable enough and sounds dark and menacing enough, propping up the overall vibe of the album. Fracmont is a diverse album that is bound to keep the listener interested with new layers peeling off with every listen.
