Look, you've seen this band's name, looked at the album cover, and read the title. What do you think you're getting from this release? Bingo! Goofy Crossover Thrash with comedic lyrics and a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Free from the Fridge sounds like the mutant bastard offspring of S.O.D., Nuclear Assault, Gang Green, Death Angel, and even a hint of System of a Down in vocalist/guitarist Nick Coady's whacked-out performance. You could say there's nothing new going on and that the production is very DIY, but then I'd call you a pussy, because this isn't some artsy-fartsy album with anything dumb like sophistication or nuance. No, this is an album you put on after a shit day at work to drink a cold beer to as you get lost in the energetic frenzy of songs like "Slave to the Microwave", "Stretchin' the Friendship", and "Biological Blitzkrieg". Special mention goes to the ass-stomping "Betty vs. Yeti", which is the band's answer to the legendary Nuclear Assault song "Hang the Pope" and every bit as entertaining. A face-melting good time for everyone.
