Surprisingly, I'd never heard Orden Ogan before this album. Considering the number of reviews of their past material we have here at The Metal Crypt, that's a little weird. Anyway, better late than never, and I'm glad I decided to give this a listen. This is positive-sounding, uplifting European power metal that will brighten your day when things really aren't going your way—that's saying a lot in the middle of a pandemic. ;) Despite the very melodic and somewhat cheesy style, the guitars are very crunchy and there's heaviness to boot, and that drummer isn't giving his drum kit a vacation. As can be expected with the genre, the vocals are clean with very melodic and catchy lines and choruses that call for you to join in on the fun. There are a few effects used that can get a little distracting at times, but not to the point of hurting the listening experience. Fans of European power metal are pretty much guaranteed to find something to like here, and yours truly might just have to dig into the band's catalogue...
