Children of the Atom is the third album from Finland's Bonehunter, picking up the black/thrash gauntlet where they left if after last year's Sexual Panic Human Machine. If anything, the vocals are even "blacker" than on the previous albums while the music is just a chaotically energetic. The songwriting on Children of the Atom is less creative than on the previous album with only the cover of Spiritus Mortis' "Man of Steel" standing out from the rest of the tracks, proving Bonehunter could stand to vary things up a bit. The black/thrash revival rolls on and Children of the Atom is a decent entry into the field with spirited performances, but it sounds like a lot of other stuff already out there, so set your expectations appropriately.
