Far East Black Metal Onslaught

Despite a list of releases longer than my arm, 2018 EP Far East Black Metal Onslaught is my first exposure to Japan's Abigail. The vocals are the tortured scream variety as opposed to rasps and with the loose playing, I was initially reminded of early Mayhem. The riffs, however, are not nearly chaotic enough for black metal and are more or less thrash with a heavy streak of punk. It's OK but it doesn't really do much to set itself apart in a sea of options. The cover is pretty cool, though.
