Legendry are part of the True Metal revival here in the US, alongside other new bands like Eternal Champion and Visigoth, if admittedly not as good. Legendry are kind of going for an early Manilla Road sound, but they mostly don't have the chops for it. The rhythm guitar sound is weak and lacking in any kind of reverb or presence, and the sound of the album as a whole is very dry. Vocalist/Guitarist Vidarr is merely adequate, and his voice has no character or charisma. I would call this not worth getting excited about, except here and there Legendry show real promise. They sometimes kick off on these long, trippy passages with noodling guitar leads, and then suddenly everything is awesome.

When this band sticks with more traditional verse-chorus songwriting they sound pretty rote and uninteresting, but when they get weird they are really something else. If they could get a better recording and a better singer – or at least someone with some character – I would advise them to push it and go all crazy. The 70s Prog-Rock influences are really where their strength lies, and they need to go with that.
