Italian History VI is, aptly, the sixth full-length from oddly-named Italian band Alltheniko. If you've heard any of their previous efforts, you'll have a pretty good idea of what Italian History VI contains; pummeling, pugilistic heavy metal with a shitload of grit and attitude. The singer is clearly at the ragged edge of his range but that only serves to up the balls-to-the-wall atmosphere. Like their previous albums, Alltheniko's songwriting is good, not great, but that won't stop you from banging your head. The guitar tone is full and raw, with a vicious streak, and I couldn't help but be reminded of 80s albums like Savatage's Power of the Night and Raven's All for One, albeit less memorable. Alltheniko has been rather consistent over their past few releases and Italian History VI keeps the ball rolling.
