Enter the Asylum

This time we get some female-fronted Heavy Metal from Australia. The name of this band is Temtris, and they have been churning out Heavy Metal (with Thrash twist) for 17 years and have released four studio albums so far. Temtris is also known for its drummer of Mortal Sin fame, the highly appreciated Australian thrashers that did a couple of things right when they were still around.

Temtris really shine on this latest album, which is thoroughly well executed, pleasingly memorable and gives you a reason or two to return back to it. This is hook-filled, strongly riff-based, and nicely and smoothly floating Heavy(/Thrash) Metal, with Genevieve's intriguing and capturing vocal parts. The album even manages to give you some true chills every now and then, especially when they decided to push pedal-to-the-metal, such as in more aggressively thrashing numbers like in "Darkness Failing" and "Night Stalker."

All in all, Temtris prove to be the kind of band that many of us wish would get more attention and success.
