Finland's Lost Society is among the "new wave" of Thrash bands that have popped up in recent years. Like the others in this group, Lost Society stay true to the 80s sound and their debut, Fast Loud Death, was well received. The follow-up, Terror Hungry, was stylistically more modern and less entertaining and the band's third album, Braindead, is even less like the debut. There are still a few fun riffs and solos, a Lost Society trademark, but the vocals are an annoying monotone scream that wears out its welcome after five seconds or so. Every time something remotely interesting starts happening with the riffs (a far too infrequent occurrence on Braindead) the singer comes in and pukes hardcore nonsense all over it. This once-promising band is going off the rails.
