This is the fourth album from underground Brazilian band Fates Prophecy. With a name like that I was expecting some US-Styled Fates Warning stuff, but no. This band is a much more typical South American-sounding act, reminding me a bit of Bloden Wedd with their amped-up Maiden-styled guitars, mushy songwriting, and vocals that try hard but never really hit. The songs here have a lot of parts, some good riffs, and almost no shape to them. The mix is uneven, but at least the guitars are up front. Vocals are by the since-replaced Ricardo Peres, and they don't sound that good. Peres has energy, and he's on-note, but his voice has a strained, unpleasant tone that makes this kind of painful to listen to. If he had good vocal melodies to work with, it would be one thing, but the lines here are tepid and uninteresting. It's too bad, because this band clearly has the tools to be good, they just are not.
