Here's the second album from Finnish Heavy Rock/Metal sensation Stargazery and it is amazing. I could stop my review right here and just tell you to run to your local record store (or considering the current times, there's always the Internet) and purchase the band's second studio album, Stars Aligned. If you like keyboard-driven, traditional Heavy Metal/Rock that follows the same path that Tarot, the dinosaurs of Finnish Heavy Rock/Metal, have been wandering for several successful decades then don't hesitate to invite Stargazery into your home. In many ways, Stargazery have much the same vibe as Tarot did on their earlier albums (up to Stigmata) and even a fair dose of defunct Finnish act Virtuocity, namely the more mystic side of traditional Heavy Rock and Metal. Rainbow's Rising album tends to rise in comparison to Stars Aligned with magical, warm Hammond-driven early Deep Purple as well but not ripping off either.
Vocalist Pasi Tiura manages to scare me at times with how he's able to adopt a very similar tone to Tarot's Marco Heitala, really blessing Stargazery's beautifully flowing anthems. One can tell that the band has clearly been working determinedly with their music for a long time. Only on rare occasions do I get this excited over a "new" band (Stargazery has been around for 10 years) but when I do, I want to recommend them to everyone, even my worst enemies. Stargazery are ready to take on the world. The question is, are you ready for them? Good, I thought so.
