Swedish troops of doom Ordo Inferus play downright old school Death Metal and feature a bunch of experienced members, past and current, of bands like Excruciate, Morpheus, Necrophobic, Godhate and so on. They have already released a 3-track EP (both 10" and digipack) on the Czech Republic's Doomentia Records in 2013 but the line-up was different.

Infectus Et Aeternus is their first full-length outing and it doesn't leave room for anyone to question if these Swedish fellows love performing Death Metal. They do, oh yeah, they do indeed. Old school Death Metal, a mixture of something Swedish and something that links them to U.S. Death Metal veterans Massacre and British warmasters Bolt Thrower is what they perform on this thoroughly brilliant debut of theirs. Ordo Inferus' heavy, pounding and ominous Death Metal will not leave anyone cold; it will even wake the dead, if this childish metaphor can be used to celebrate this fine Death Metal slab.

Seriously, Invictus Et Aeturnus is absolutely one of the most impressive and convincing Death Metal discs that has seen the light of day this year. It has everything essential in it that an old school Death Metal album should. How can a band possibly lose with uncompromisingly brutal and heavy Death Metal designed to remove heads from shoulders, one after another? Ordo Inferus hit the target with lethal accuracy and I am glad to be on their side of this death march. Amazingly good stuff here and a dead-serious recommendation!
