Death Curse
I got this band's Metal of Death EP for review years ago, and found it pretty piss-poor, even for a demo, but I am pleased to find this band has really stepped up. Featuring drums by Rhett Davis, formerly of such luminary bands as Morgion and Keen of the Crow, Gravehill are a nasty, bashing Death/Thrash band who seem to have gotten their shit together.
Flailing, thrashtastic riffs and a chaotic assault of old-school evil characterize this disc, with definite influences from the likes of Sodom, Hellhammer, Deicide, and other such unfriendly, low-fi acts. The production is miles better than on their EP, with a snarling guitar sound, some killer riffage, and a lot of energy. Fans of Blackened Death/Thrash should not skip this.
