The United State's Acheron has several releases to their name since forming in the late 80s, culminating with 2014's Kult des Hasses, which is full-length #8. Grimy, evil Black/Death is on tap and flows with the grim determination of the river from which the band takes their name. Musically, Death/Thrash is the foundation, with only occasional Black flourishes, and many of the riffs are excellent. The songs are well constructed and the vocals are, more or less, an understandable growl/yell with many words easily distinguishable ("Satan," "hell," "whores"; you know, the good words). Sometimes the band goes for a serious sound, similar to Thulcandra ("Concubina do Diablo") where the guitars are outright menacing and the vocals full of hateful venom. At others, a more "Black and Roll" vibe can be heard ("Devil's Black Blood"), reminding me of Desaster, and it is these songs I find more enjoyable, but that's just me.

Acheron does everything well on Kult des Hasses and it should please most Black/Death fans. I didn't hear anything that jumped out as being particularly unique or special, so don't expect any revelations, but you will get an ass-kicking just the same.
