I think it always makes things a bit more interesting and special when a band uses their native language when performing on a record.
Progressive and modern Metal is offered by this 4-piece act from Saratov, Russia, with lyrics completely in Russian. For the fans of progressive and modern Metal, Druknroll have put together an impressive record. One can hear many hours practice in this Russian act's playing to say nothing of their skills as musicians.
Druknroll kick ass on all levels; they are innovative and original, challenge themselves with unorthodox and tricky song structures and are not afraid of pushing musical boundaries. I would not go as far as claiming Druknroll is the Russian answer to Dream Theater, as they obviously aren't, even if, technically speaking their stuff is at least as complex and hard-hitting as their American counterparts. But their attempts to create high-profile progressive Metal have turned out to be successful. There are a number of interesting and thought-provoking things going on on the band's third album Boiling Point, which should not leave anyone cold. A song like "White Death" is one of the true highlights off this album, being very atmospheric, downright heavy and ominous as hell.
Boiling Point takes a few listens before opening up to the listener, but it's worth it.
