Wish Nightwish still played power metal? Well there's a good chance you're going to love Italy's Sinheresy, especially those like myself who were disappointed by Imaginaerum. Everything about this EP is particularly well done for its chosen genre, and the production is nice and clear, with everything being nicely audible.

Performances are stellar across the board, with the female vocals being a lot better than I expected, think along the lines of a less powerful Floor Janesen, or Simone Simons with touches of Tarja in her mid register. The male vocals are decent, although hardly spectacular, they also feature quite prominently which gives a fairly good dynamic to the tracks. The riffs are quality, and probably the high point of the release, especially in the opener "Temptation Flame" which is straight out of Wishmaster. Fans of female-fronted metal are going to want to give this a look right away, especially those with a penchant for Nightwish clones; however those falling outside of this niche can safely look past this release though. A good effort nonetheless, and with a little refinement (and a dash of originality) a debut album from Sinheresy could be solid!
