This is a new Thrash band from Sweden, but man do they play it old school – and not the pretty kind either. This is raw, dirty, abrasive, slow to mid-paced, heavy Thrash with raucous, almost-agonizing vocals – I must say here that the vocals are what stick out the most for me on this album. Not flashy or anything, just the kind of vocals used by some mid-80s underground blackened Thrash bands, devoid of almost any commercial appeal – I guess a cross between Schmier in the early days of Destruction and Petrozza in early Kreator is close enough of a description. The guy almost steals the show here.
Musically there's a lot of slow to mid-paced, very heavy stuff, though the band also speeds it up past the speed limit quite a few times ("Sign of the Beast" is a good fast one.) The stuff comes off as a good marriage of mid-80s underground Thrash and more recent blackened Thrash – some melodic stuff, but mostly raw, aggressive and face-smashing. It's not particularly original, and doesn't need to be. If you don't like your Thrash clean, then this is for you.
