Estonia's Sõjaruun play typical Black Metal but inject enough personality to make their 2009 full-length, Org, stand out from the crowd. This three-piece stick with the standard guitar/bass/drum configuration and play more riffs than tremolo picks behind vocalist Oliver's dry rasps. Desolate cold landscapes are the images Sõjaruun create and this is enhanced with some mournful acoustic guitars. Org is on the melodic side of the aisle, but still boasts plenty of ferocious passages that will test your neck muscles.

Org delivers no surprises but the songs work together well and the album is quite engaging. Sõjaruun may not be the most original band out there, but they play they style as it was meant to be played.
