Mars
This is the follow-up to this band's 2006 album Devils in Iron and is not that different from it in style or approach. Scorched-Earth play balls-out Death/Thrash influenced by Possessed, Bestial Warlust, and Celtic Frost. That makes them sound more awesome than they are, but this album is pretty badass. This album is looser and more energetic than the last one, with a more organic, aggressive feel. The songs are less structured and the performances are less restrained, producing an album that just has a more awesome vibe than the last one. Furious screeds of violence like the nine-minute opener "Warlords of Mars" are what Death/Thrash is supposed to be all about. If you like old-school slashing violence, then don't skip this.
